Purchasing a bicycle for your child is exciting for both parents and kids. A bicycle is your child’s first vehicle and it’s one of a child’s first steps to independence and healthy transportation. While children (and most adults for that matter) are usually most interested in the look and color of the bike, we would do well to remember, the bike is a vehicle not just a toy. As the parent, it’s your job to help your child find the right size and style of bicycle.
Here are a few tips to keep in mind when shopping for a bike:
Fit should be your first priority. Don’t buy a bike that is too big for your child with the rationalization that they will “grow into it.” You don’t buy sneakers 3 sizes too big, do you? It will be easier for your child to control a bike that fits properly. Better control of the bicycle means that he or she will be safer.
When buying a bike, do these simple checks for proper fit:
1. Have your child stand over the bicycle with both feet flat on the floor. Lifting the bicycle to their body, there should be at least one inch between the tires and the floor. No clearance means the frame is too big. You can imagine how painful it would be, and the possible lifelong injury that could result, if a crash occurred. If there is no top tube, your child should be able to put his or her elbow on the front of the bike seat and touch the handlebar stem with his or her fingertips.
2. Sitting on the seat with hands on the handlebars, your child must be able to place the balls of his or her feet on the ground. That will keep him or her from tipping over. This is important even if the bike has training wheels.
3. Still sitting on the seat, your child must be able to comfortably reach the handlebars and squeeze the handbrakes, if there are any. If he or she can’t reach or squeeze the brakes, you should find a smaller bike or one with pedal brakes.
Get a bike simple enough for your child to handle. Some kids have trouble with handbrakes or multiple gears. Only buy a bike your child is comfortable using. Listen to his or her concerns because your child is often the best judge of what feels right. Dont get something fancy with the hopes he or she will keep up with you on the road or trail.
Buy a bike suited for the type of cycling your child will be doing. There are many styles of bikes and having the appropriate kind is important. For instance, a one-speed BMX-style bike won’t be much fun for cycling any distances on the trails or roads.
- Road bikes (like “10 speeds,” although most have 14 to 30 speeds these days) are easy and efficient for cycling on roads. They are available in sizes that fit 10- to 12-year-olds and older.
- Mountain bikes are great for off-road cycling and can also be ridden comfortably on roadways.
- BMX-style bikes include BMX racing bikes, trick bikes, and dirt-jumping bikes. Ask your child how he or she plans to use the bike and make sure that you buy a bike designed to meet your child’s needs. For instance, trick bikes aren’t designed for dirt-jumping and won’t hold up under such extreme use.
Now with that in mind, let’s move on to the bargains!

For some years now, when facing the transition to colder weather, my skin and especially my hands have faced some fairly heavy duty challenges. I’m speaking of itchiness, and as the weather starts to get really dry, even cracking around my knuckles and between my fingers. It isn’t fun, and it’s actually pretty painful.
I’ve become a devotee of lotions and hand creams, and I feel at this point I’ve tried them all at one time or another. Shea Butter from L’Occitane is definitely one of my favorites. This is an extremely rich and slightly heavy cream that penetrates quickly, perfect for those with dry skin who need more moisture during dry winter months. A superior product that lives up to it’s reputation as L’Occitane’s best seller.
L’Occitane Shea Butter is made from the shea nut harvested in Burkina Faso. The nut is ground into a rich vegetable butter that offers multiple benefits for the skin: nourishing, moisturising, soothing, comforting, healing, protecting and regenerating. Integrated in L’Occitane’s formula at an unrivalled concentration, shea butter is ideal for dry and very dry skin.
Using these L’Occitane discount deals, you will find the Hand Cream Trio Offer. Get a hand cream trio in a FREE gift case for just £20 when you use the code TRIO99 at checkout!

Trying to keep up with what’s hot in the world of handbags takes every bit as much dedication and attention as required of fashion of any other stripe. Don’t ingnore nor try to downplay their importance either. Any self respecting fashionista will tell you that accessories make the look. Don’t have the proper gear to go along with that dress? Well you may not make it past that velvet rope, real or figurative, no matter how fetching said dress is.
Okay so what’s on the table in handbag fashion trends for fall 2009? Well much like the outfits they will be complimenting, the trends this year are all about bold choices. Beautiful, flashy and vibrant, and lots of fun to carry. Many of the top designer handbags are focusing on embellishments such as studs, chains, sequins, and even stones. Guess is using an assortment of metals in their new Fall handbags. Studding is seen is many of the Fall handbags by Guess. Used as an accent material, or as a focal piece, studding seems to be what’s hot in Fall handbag trends for 2009. The new Guess line implements chains in their handbags too, being used in shoulder straps in conjunction with leather and other natural materials.
Take a look at this Guess offering sold by eBags UK:

GUESS Icon N/S Satchel (Price $128.00)
Micheal Kors seems to be loving the embellishments as well. eBags UK has a wide range of Kors selections ranging from small clutch to large totes

MICHAEL Michael Kors Knoxville Clutch (Price $198.00)
The hottest fashions and designer labels can be cost prohibitive. That is unless you are an eBags.com customer. eBags.com is the world’s largest online retailer of bags and accessories, combining the best selection of products with unrivaled service and extremely competitive prices. There is a trap that I’m sure many of us have fallen into: we see an amazing sale price and we decide to snap it up. Now that in of itself is not a bad thing, of course not, a bargain is a good thing. What we forgot however, was all the peripherals and accesorieser beyond the computer itself, that make a fully functioning worksation. These conviently enough, were not on sale. All of a sudden what we expected to pay, becomes much, much more.
Dell UK has a sale this week on computer accesories of many stripes and flavours. Keyboards, montiors, printers and more are available at a savings of up to 25% off!
24-inch UltraSharp Widescreen Flat Panel Monitor 2408 WFP If you haven’t added an HD widescreen monitor to your workstation yet, I must say you’ve been missing out. I’m not even talking about the entertainment factor (though it’s pretty great for that too), but I’m speaking from a “getting work done” perspective.
Have you ever tried working with two monitors? Remember the pleasure you derived the first time you didn’t have to toggle back and forth between pages? Remember how much more you got done that day? The frustration you didn’t have?
Well with one of these bad boys you don’t need two monitors. No you only need the one, and you can split the view in two. It really is quite divine. £449.00 £359.20

I always find it funny how the prevailing advice on how to care for our children changes throughout the years. What was once considered “good, solid common sense” is now anathema in today’s climate. We could speak on almost any subject and how it applies to children and we would find this phenomena.
Take for example something as simple as buying children’s shoes. At one time it was standard to buy shoes for children that were two sizes too big to cut down on cost. Okay, I can certainly understand the desire to do so with as quickly as young children grow out of their things. The only problem with that is that children are susceptible to the same foot problems as adults, and no one likes blisters, corns, bunions, unnecessary pain or stinky feet.
Of course it is okay okay to buy kids footwear a little big to leave room to grow, but anything over a size bigger is too big. Most shoe stores will measure a child’s foot so that the correct size shoe can be purchased. Check for large gaps in the shoes and whether the heel slips out when the child walks. Don’t let them outgrow old shoes, while you try to squeeze a few more months life out of them either. Shoes that are too tight or too small will result in sore feet and possible ingrown toenails as well as other foot problems, and shoes that are too large will cause the toes to slide forward which is not only uncomfortable but results in sore toes as well. Choose proper kids footwear to enable children to start out on the “right foot”.
When shopping for children’s shoes, look for leather and canvas shoes. Not only are the plastic and synthetic materials uncomfortable, causing corns, bunions and sores, but canvas and leather shoes are less likely to cause foot odor problems because of the breathability of the materials. Leather and canvas shoes are especially important when buying sandals for girls or boys. Plastic pieces on thong sandals are notorious for causing blisters and sores between little toes.

Kickers Kick Kilo Junior Core Blue Shoe
Ensure no fussing with these classic Kickers enhanced with Velcro straps. Made of leather and available in navy. Price £50.00
Make sure the shoes have a thick, sturdy sole, but still bends with the foot. Soles should not be too stiff or too floppy, and patterned soles provide traction. Avoid heels on shoes for children as they are difficult for kids to walk and run in and are not healthy for growing feet. Stick with flat shoes with no heel for growing girls and boys. Young girls can try out the high heel shoes later and in the meantime enjoy healthy feet.

Kickers Kick Hi LEGO Yellow Funky Juniors Leather Boot
Children are our role models! Children are inquisitive, creative and imaginative. This is why Kickers had teamed up with LEGO and created this fantastic collection for your little ones. Classic Kickers Kick Hi with funky LEGO’s brick on the strap and colourful sole unit. Made of Leather. Price £55.00
Of course we are eager to mitigate costs. Certainly one of the better ways to do so is to take advantage of all the online discounts, coupons and vouchers at your disposal.

My sister tells me that finding and claiming Steve Madden as the love of her life was meant to be. I remember when she was first introduced to his stylish splendor via a pair of Mary-Jane pumps back in the seven grade. She tells me now that she knew that their paths were destined to cross time and time again, and they have.
For the past several years it seems that those paths have crossed for the most part in the form of boots. There does appear to be a cycle at work here. Every year as she heads out to find appropriate footwear, she she will inevitably return to the arms of Madden and his delicious creations.

INTYCE
This refined beauty was the apple of her this year. Show off the buckle detail by pulling them over your skinny jeans, or pair them with your favorite mini dress for a full-blown fashion look. 1 inch sliver wedge, leather upper, 15.75 inch shaft. $169.95
My sister is not the only one that has a boot fetish in my family, my wife loves them every bit as much. Several months ago as we were reorganizing our house and closets in anticipation of our son’s arrival the storing of the boots became quite an issue. Not that I had an issue with them, she looks amazing in boots, but simply how to get them off the closet floor! There were so many pair!

SELIA
My wife does not quite have the allegiance to Steve Madden that my sister has, but she will not hesitate to jump on a good deal when she sees one. She picked up the SELIA on discount, and carries them to great effect.
Soft supple leather boot, a gently pointed toe, fold-over cuff and a slightly high heel make the Selia a perfect mate for your fall wardrobe. 3.5 inch heel, leather upper with three quarter zip closure. $169.95 $118.97

KANNON
This being my sister’s love from I believe two seasons ago. She was all over this equestrian inspired high shaft leather boot. 1 inch heel, leather upper with a 15 inch shaft. $149.95
Do you share a love for Steve Madden? Well find your Steve Madden coupons here! Join the Steve Madden newsletter and save 10% off of your next order!

The long waiting time was passed. HTC Touch 2, the successor to the HTC Touch and HTC Touch 3G, is finally out. It sports a revamped design and comes in a budget price which is targeting the mass market. But the most highlight-able point is that this the first device featuring the latest version of Microsoft’s operating system for mobile devices, Windows Mobile 6.5.
The HTC Touch 2 carries a touchscreen with a 2.8 inch display, and a clean and simple design. Onboard you will also find a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB port and a 3.2 megapixel camera.
Much has been made of the improvements in this new version of Windows mobile, the most obvious being the new homescreen. Pressing the Start menu icon in the top right corner no longer opens a drop down menu full of shortcuts, icons ordered in the oh-so-popular honeycomb pattern. The new version of the Internet Explorer Mobile web browser has received a nicer touch-optimized interface and way cooler skin. It now sports kinetic scrolling and Flash support, and should give you the browsing experience that its predecessor failed to. Google Maps, Facebook and an FM radio all come pre-installed.
Find the HTC Touch 2 T3333 SIM FREE and Unlocked from Simply Electronics at the discount price of £284.95 marked down from £369.95!
Check out these Simply Electronics coupons and receive an additional £10 off of the new HTC Touch 2 T3333!

Halloween may be be a time to indulge in the scary fun of dressing up like ghosts and goblins, but on the back end what a lot folks really enjoy in having an excuse to indulge in sweet treats. We all remember the candy being the end goal in our trick-or-treating efforts as children. Be honest, have any of us really gotten over this? I’m going to go ahead and take some liberties as making this a statement of fact.
This being the case, I do believe that one can score quite a few points by giving out Halloween themed gifts. After all, no self respecting adult can hit the streets and go trick-or-treating. That is unless one really wants to creep out his or her neighbours. Also, you can’t really share in your child’s candy haul unless you want to upset you kid. That candy is theirs! Neither can a person find joy in the indulgence by buying it for themselves. Part of the fun is having it given to you!
If you are person that really needs to ingratiate yourself to someone else, a friend or a business client maybe, I’m thinking Halloween themed gifts basket. Put the basket together yourself, to give it that personalized touch. I swear the recipient will think that you are wonderful.
This isn’t a hard project. We can make it easy and affordable. Check out these Thortons vouchers. Thortons offers a current deal of 3 for 2 on selected Halloween treats. The cheapest item will be free! Pick out several to make up your gift basket and you will be the toast of the town.

Unless you have been living under a rock (or completely disinterested in the world of computer technology), you have no doubt heard that Microsoft releases its successor to the Vista OS, Windows 7, this week. I myself have been using an advance copy of Windows 7 for about six weeks now, and I couldn’t be happier with it.
Windows 7 was clearly designed to dispel all the complaints (deserved or not) the public and press had for Microsoft’s previous OS. This is a solid OS with plenty of modern eye candy that succeeds in taking Windows usability into the 21st century. If you’re coming from Windows XP, Windows 7 will totally feel like a revelation from the glossy future. If you’re coming from Vista, you’ll definitely go “Hey, this is much better!” the first time you touch Aero Peek.
Windows 7 is the biggest step forward in usability since Windows 95. Its fancy new user interface—the heart of which is Aero Peek, making every open window transparent except the one you’re focusing on at the moment so you can find what you’re looking for—actually changes the way you use Windows. It breaks the instinct to maximize windows as you’re using them; instead, you simply let windows hang out, since it’s much easier to juggle them. In other words, it radically reorients the UI around multitasking.
My whole system feels lighter and tighter than ever, running much better on my three year old hardware than even XP did. Oh but wouldn’t it be great to take Windows 7 for a spin on a new computer?
Well now we have the chance! Dell has just released their line of machines outfitted with the sparkly Windows 7!
Dell Inspiron 15 - Try out Windows 7 on Dell’s most popular laptop. The Inspiron 15 is Dell’s fully customizable machine, where you choose everything from the CPU to the Wi Fi card. You get to decided what you want, and how powerful to want it. Configurations running the new Windows 7 start at £299
Come find your Dell UK vouchers, and experience Windows 7 now!

Alright dear ladies it’s bedtime! What are your choices for bedtime attire? Yes that threadbare Hello Kitty shirt coupled with the men’s boxers are no doubt comfortable, but have you thought about treating yourself to some jazzy new sleepwear? This may pay untold dividends, some well deserved attention from the person next you, which will then translate into increased confidence, self satisfaction and better sleep! Remember the world of women’s sleepwear is vast, and sexy and comfortable are not mutually exclusive.
How does it fit? Loose fitting sleepwear is the most comfortable since it does not bind or constrain. In addition, avoiding garments that have seams, add-ons or pockets that may be irritating to the skin.
I do believe these factors to be the utmost of importance. After sleep is all about relaxation! However it is fun to muse on what these outfits may say about ourselves.

Dulcie Camisole
In this I can hear your siren’s call. Even when asleep, you want to keep things spicy and look your best! The beautifully fresh Dulcie camisole is crafted from fine mesh with exquisite Candy pink French lace trim and is a must have everyday staple for every lady’s knicker drawer. £59.00 £41.00

You are flirty, fun and adventurous. Claudette is a very pretty range with striped cotton jaquard and silk insert details. This short will appeal to the young and young at heart and is a great casual sleepwear look that is a must for the season. Available in Ivory and Tea Rose. £39.00 £27.00

Claudette Pyjama Top
Assuming that you pair this top with the matching bottoms, this look could go in a few different directions. I could see you as The Boss, and urban woman on the go always with coffee in hand…or you could be taking the time to take in life, dreamy, quirky and artistic. Striped cotton jaquard and silk insert details. This pyjama top will appeal to the young and young at heart and is a great casual sleepwear look that is a must for the season. Available in Ivory and Tea Rose. £79.00 £55.00
